Overview

Chance is not a style.

AI images look good quickly. Nine of them that fit together are something else. Without a system, light, face and product change from image to image, and you spend the day guessing.

Without a process

  • Random results
  • A different look in every image
  • Time goes into guessing
  • The AI decides

With a process

  • Controlled results
  • One image world across all shots
  • Predictable steps
  • You're the creative director
Setup

It all starts with a good product photo.

The AI can only be as good as what it sees of the product. That's why the start isn't a prompt but a clean photo.

  • LightDiffused studio light or neutral daylight, no harsh shadows.
  • PerspectiveEye level or 45 degrees, with clear contours.
  • DetailsMaximum sharpness. The better the texture, the more real the result.
A
Visual DNA

The world first, then the image.

Before anything is generated, the visual DNA is set: scene, light, material, mood. Here a calm bedroom in the morning, linen, silk, warm light through curtains, lots of beige and lots of air.

Reference images aren't copied but taken apart: what creates their effect? From that comes a fixed style that stays the same in every further image.

Bare
A
Iteration

Three steps to the look.

The first image is never the last. First the composition, then light, material and atmosphere, finally the selection, upscaling and matching with all the other shots.

First
Refinement:
Final:

You see it most clearly in the bag: colour, shape and material get closer to the real product with every round.

9-shot set

Nine images, one shoot.

The final look becomes a set of nine shots: wide, portrait, detail, movement, product in the foreground. Like a photographer walking around the scene, just without a studio.

Nine

Then come moving images: short clips in the same look, for social and campaigns. And once the process works, the world can change, from the bedroom to a terrace by the sea.

Back
Quality

How to recognise good AI images.

  • Does it look like AI?Skin too smooth, surfaces too perfect. Naturalness is a decision, not chance.
  • Does every shot fit the rest?Light and colour palette stay the same across all images.
  • Does the image have room?Plan space for headlines, keep the product in focus.
  • Is the format right?Set the format before generating. Cropping afterwards destroys the composition.

Tools in this experiment: ChatGPT for style analysis and references, Higgsfield for images, shots and clips, Magnific for upscaling.

Workshop

Learn the process for your own product.

In the workshop, you and your team build your own 9-shot set: from the product photo to the visual DNA to the finished campaign look. For brands, agencies and designers.
